Physical Education

P.E. develops the whole person by nurturing the mind, body and spirit in a community of learners. Through the development of physical skills in a positive moral and social setting, students develop respect for individual differences and confidence in their talents and abilities.

​We teach to five standards that are also part of the Portland Archdiocese Curriclum guidelines. They include a student’s ability to demonstrate:

  • Competency in a variety of motor skills, movement patterns and forms
  • Applied knowledge of concepts, principles and tactics related to movement and performance

  • Participation in physical activity for enjoyment, growth, self-expression and social interaction

  • Ability to analyze, reflect and strive for a healthy level of physical activity and fitness for life.
